Everyone has a job to do for God. – There is no small task in the work of God, everything we do is important to fulfill our mission.
Our verse of reference in Ezra 2 is:
“Now these are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken captive to Babylon (they returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to their own town.” (Ezra 2:1 NIV).
Historical Review. – A descendant of King David, called Zerubbabel [also known as Sheshbazzar], Cyrus delegated him the responsibility to act as governor of Judea, and Joshua the high priest came with him. The long journey through the desert was successful, and the people were happy, grateful to God for His many mercies. They immediately set about the work of restoring what had been destroyed. “The heads of the family groups” gave the example of their substance to offer to contribute to the cost of rebuilding the temple, and the people, following this example, people gave freely of what little they had. The return of the leaders of Judah.- The descendants of the lineage of David returned to rebuild the temple , heads of tribal families, the heads of cities, the priests and Levites. This group of people took on the task of rebuilding the temple and the city, which had been abandoned for 70 years. The same is needed today to advance the proclamation of the gospel. The work of the people of israel can inspire our professionals today to put their talents to the service of God, businessmen and traders, can use their talents to proclaim the Gospel and Students can acquire knowledge more effectively to share the Word of God.
God of second chances. We ask to be taken into your hands, and molded by the great potter, make us better tools for the salvation of our loved ones and all those who want to listen to your word. In the name of Jesus, amen.
